Or,

The FFL CUP Draw 2009/2010

Apologies for the delay in getting the draw out, but guess what - I forgot !

Anyway here it is. The teams were drawn out by Barb and Anna (Neil's wife), and the first match is a repeat of last year's final - I'm sure Sky will want that one.

Bottom Again (Neil) vs Three Fullbacks (Ted)

Sam (Dancin in the Street) gets a bye into the 2nd round

Long Pants (Ray) vs Guzantight at the Back (Ben)

Allan (World Cup Wonders) gets a bye.

Tilly (Dan Pet Rescuers) gets a bye

Alex (AK-47) gets a bye

Jenny (Seymours sexy squad) vs Jamie (Aaaaadebola)

Rob (Sir Bobby) gets a bye.

The full draw through to the final is attached as a spreadsheet (email version).

First round matches to be played on weekend of 9/10/11th Jan 2010 (no New years day fixtures this year).

2nd round matches will be played on the weekend of 6/7th Feb.

Bookies favourite at this point - Three Fullbacks (who else?)

Ted

Come on Ted. Thousands were glued to their monitors at the Liverpool/Arsenal 1/2 time to see who was drawn to who in the Cup. No one was that interested in discovering how Liverpool were going to go down yet again (once Kuyt had ruined my chance of getting 6 points from my 2 Arsenal defenders). But you had to wait to see the L'pool downfall before emailing the Cup draw. And tell your Neil not to try the wheelbarrow of cash tactic again when he finds out which team he has to play!

The draw for the first round of the FFL Cup will be made today - at half time in the Liverpool v Arsenal match.

The first round matches will be played on New Years day (as tradition dictates, when I remember). Despite all the stick the official FFL Cup organisers received last season for continuing to use the original FFL Cup as a trophy, Sam will be entered into the competition, though, if his heart's not in it, I dont suppose he'll last very long.

Will email/post the draw later today.

All the best

Ted (on behalf of the official FFL Cup Organising Committee)

I'm still working on adding that ability into the site. I've got some way to go, I can do a simple version that allows links I suppose or I can maybe look at a way of auto putting links in.

Just need to spend some time doing it but I've been a little busy recently!

Check out this goal Diego Souza scored for Palmeiras on the weekend:

Interesting fact: Me and Al saw Diego Souza's professional debut (for Fluminense) about 6 years ago at the Maracana. I clearly remember Al writing him off as a hopeless clown (although he was only 18) ... he's gone on to become one of the best players in Brazil Al and will more than likely be at the World Cup next year... watch out Fantasy Managers if he goes to the premier league.

Tilly, you've got it wrong. Mateo was/is a real player ... and so was/is Dimateo. Riise, on the other hand, is just pretending to be Riise ... he doesn't really exist!

It's not our fault that the manager of Long Pants doesn't know his own players, it's just another case of Dominic Matteo again isn't it Ray?

Allan. Whilst I can empathise with your sentiment with regard to Rob, I wonder why you are so sparing in your expressions of support. Of course, it may not just be bad luck that bidding for fragile creatures like Van Persie and Robinho ends up with injured players on his team. On the other hand, bidding for a player who is impersonating another player (who then never plays) surely should attract more expressions of sorrow and support for the unlucky manager. Riise is still the only Long Pants player who is not a player at all!
