The results of the quarter final matches of the FFL Cup (Sponsored by the Alzheimers Society) are as follows:
Dan Pet Rescuers 3 (Schwarzer -2, Evra 3, Lampard 2)
vs
AK 47 7 (Ferdinand 3, Johnson, 1, Yakubu 3)
Sir Bobby 3 (Taylor 3)
vs
Aaaaaadebola 5 (Friedel 3, Barry 2)
Bottom Again FC 10 (Neville 3, Pienaar 2, Defoe 5)
vs
Dancin in the Streets 3 (Green -3, Warnock 3, Nani 2, Malbranque 2)
Long Pants 15 (Vidic 3, Baines -1, Pedersen 2, Davies 5, Drogba 6)
vs
World Cup Wonders 7 (Bridge -1, Upson -3, Alex 3, Corluka 2, Rooney 6)
So,
- Sam can stop worrying about winning the superb trophy,
- Long Pants and Bottom Again are both still on for the league & cup double (at least until the semi finals - see below),
- Sir Bobby falls at the first hurdle again
- World Cup Wonders great late season run falls short in the cup, and they can concentrate on the league
- AK47 take their place in the cup semi finals, and may yet end a poor season (by their previous standards) with a trophy
- Last years champions Aaaaaaadebola can console themselves with a god cup run.
Semi Finals take place over the weekend of 27/28/29 March when the line up will be:
Bottom Again vs Long Pants
AK 47 vs Aaaadebola

The FFL cup Committee
The replayed 1st round match of the FFL Cup (sponsored by the Alzheimers Society) has produced a winner.
John Terry's minus 3 (he's not having a very good few weeks is he ?), coupled with an assist (2 points) from Yossi Benayoun gave Seymours Sexy Squad a dismal team score of minus 1.
A clean sheet for Vermaelen (3 points) and a four point haul for Man City's Gareth Barry gave Aaaaaaaaaaaadebola a team score of 7 points.
It follows that Aaaaaadebola moves into the quarter final of the Cup to play Sir Bobby, in a mouth-watering clash.
Quarter final matches will be played over the weekend of 13/14/15 March.

The FFL Cup - sponsored by the Alzheimers Society
The Manager of Three Fullbacks (playing these days under the name Has anybody seen Woodgate ?) is facing the sack after his team fell at the first hurdle in the competition he has dominated for the past two seasons.
This is Three Fullbacks first defeat in the premier FFL competition since March 2007, when beaten by the eventual winners.
So the omens looks good this year for Bottom Again FC who move into the quarter finals with a comprehensive 13 - 7 win over the defending cup holders.
In the other first round matches....
....an impressive 5 points for Cech (clean sheet and an assist) and two goal haul for Drogba (he scored again -
- did he eh !) contributed to Long Pants 15 point tally. Opponents GuzzanTight scored a very good 12 points (Ashley Young's five pointer being the highlight) , but this high score was not enough to stop the rampant Long Pants cruising into the quarters.
The third first round tie ended in an 11 point draw, so, Seymour's sexy squad and Aaaaaaaadebola must play again next weekend.
The quarter finals of the FFL Cup (sponsored by the Alzheimers Society) will take place on the weekend of 13/14/15th March (or will they ? Let's wait and see).
Quarter Final Matches are:
Bottom Again (Neil) vs Dancin in the Street (Sam)
Long Pants (Ray) vs World Cup Wonders (Al)
Dan Pet Rescuers (Tilly) vs AK-47 (playing under the alias ARGENTINA) (Alex)
Sir Bobby (Rob) vs Winner of.... Seymours Sexy squad vs Aaaadelbola
Some crackers there. Now that the holders are out - may the best man/woman prevail.
All the best

Announcement.......
The 1st Round of the FFL Cup, sponsored by the Alzheimers Society, will take place this weekend - 20/21st February.
The cup committee apologises for the delay.
Tilly, what a colourful banner! I was trying to identify each of the players but could not see Riise ...
As you may or may not notice, we now have a small banner at the top of the page to make it a bit more graphical
Nothing amazing but something I put together in about 10 mins
Enjoy

The first round of the FFL Cup was cancelled owing the current weather (and lack of Premier League games). Will now take place over the weekend of 6th/7th February - weather permitting.
So much for global warming......
Ted
Merry Christmas everyone!
Hope you have all had a wonderful time and that you all have a great New Year!
The race is on for the FFL crown now!

How could 3 fullbacks be favourite against Neil's high-flying team? Remember, Ted, you not only have Neil's considerable skill as a manager to negotiate, but also there is still the issue of the cash wheelbarrow that he uses at critical moments!
