After crashing out the cup and losing for the first time since 2009 I'd like to congratulate jenny.....however there may need to be a stewards enquiry as nasri scored 3 pts without scoring so I don't know about the rest of the points!!! I vote for a re match!! Perhaps I shouldn't have rested my 2 city players but though RVP could win it on his own.
Good luck Tilly and Alan who hasn't really had a game in the cup yet!! Chance for a double?!
Well, Well, Well...........
In one of the biggest cup shocks in years, Argentina, cup holders for the previous two years have crashed out. A particularly drab performance from the cup holders in which only Van Persie's double (against Liverpool - a real bummer, Ed) scored any points.
In return, Jenny's Enrique's Heroes managed twelve points (Dempsey 6, Kompany 3, Nasri 3) - So with a 12-6 defeat, Alex can concentrate on the league.
In another massive shock, previous winners "oh no were not very good this year" were also kicked out of the cup by Ray (or is it Pat's) Long Pants. A low scoring match saw Long Pants come out 6 - 3 winners.
In another fairly drab affair, Rob's "King Crap" were knocked out 5-0 by Allan's "Ballotelli's Catherine Wheels" (Evra 2, Ballotelli 3).
In the fourth game of the Quarter finals, Tilly's "Dan Pet Rescue" established themselves as firm favourites for this years cup with a 15-2 demolishing of Sam's "team with the very long name".
So for Tilly, and Allan (outside chance) the double is still on - for Alex it's only the league to play for, but are the cracks starting to appear, is this the end of the line for Argentina ??? - Sorry I slipped into Weakest Link mode then. We wait to see. Exciting eh.?
................................................................................................................
So the semi-finals of the FFL Cup 2012 is as follows:
Enrique's Heroes vs Long Pants
Ballotelli's Wheels vs Dan Pet Rescue
Semi finals will be played over the weekend of 31st March/ 1st April.
Yours
The Cup Committee
With apologies for the delay in getting the results out - I forgot.
Alex and Jamie slogged it out in a high scoring match, but Argentina came out of top by 21 to 15, so the double is still on for Sir Alex.
The Battle of the older Kohns was a close run affair, but experience came out on top as Ray beat Ben by 9 points to 8
In the final first round match. Neil performed to expectation and as a result is out of this years FFL Cup at the first Hurdle. Tilly came out on top by 8 points to 3.
So Alex, Ray and Tilly take their place in the quarter finals, which will take place THIS WEEKEND 3rd, 4th and 5th March
Matches are:
Alex vs Jenny
Ray vs Ted
Allan vs Rob
Tilly vs Sam
Results on Tuesday (if I remember)
All the best

... an undeniable case of mixing business with displeasure! Hahaha!! C'mon Wednesday, we can catch 'em!!
Cheers Jamie for the bye the double is on at this moment in time!
The Cup Draw means that Rob will beat at least three of the following six teams: ARGENTINA, GYAN,GYAN,GONE,

The draw for the first round of the FFL Cup was completed this evening by Lord Ted and Lady Barbara. The teams were drawn from Teds cap as follows:
ARGENTINA will play GYAN,GYAN,GONE

All other teams get a bye into round two, scheduled for weekend of 3rd/4th March.
For those of you (such as my good self) for whom the Fantasy League title is just that..... fantasy, then the main competition is about to commence. The draw for the first round of the FFL Cup will take place in the next day or so, with matches to take place over next weekend (18th, 19th and 20th Feb)
The draw for the Cup will be posted on this message board, so watch this space.
Asked what had gone wrong with the Long Pants season, Ray described how it had all begun so well - rushing ahead of the other teams in a widely-predicted repeat of the previous two seasons' victories. Then the Chelsea defenders took their minds off football leaving his world-class goalkeeper's point advance in Check. And there was obviously something the Mata with Malouda.
I have a dodgy tout who has hopefully secured me a ticket.
