Here is the FFL news.

- Oction this year is planned to take place on 17th August from 7.30 pm at 6 Newfield Court, 586 Fulwood Road, Sheffield S10 3QE (It was going to be in Ben's new place but he has asked to have it moved to our flat in the hope that Melissa and Dennis might sleep that night)

- Ray has been seen crying over the imminent departure of the league cup that has become such a fixture in the flat
- Alex was consoling his Dad with the promise of the other cup
- Despite his strong denials, Rob has been studying the Reading team's defensive line-up
- Neil, wanting his employer to believe that he was in Hong Kong, was seen in Swansea asking whether any of their players would like to join his team
- No bookies are now accepting any further bets from Ted on Liverpool winning the Premier League (and anyway Barbara has drawn a line at mortgaging the cottage for the sake of what Ted believes is a dead certainty)
- Tilly and Rob have both laid odds that the other will not win this year ... so much for brotherly love!
- Jamie has been nailing horseshoes on the door of his house as he says all that he needs is a bit of luck, and he'll win in 2012/13
- Ben has decided that the blown-up image on the wall fails to intimidate so has decided to immigrate just to see if his physical presence will make a difference
- Jenny is reported to have said that although Drogba failed to win it for her last year, she intends spending as much as she has to obtain his services this year
- Sam's residence in London has made him into such a QPR fan that he already has 8 of their team marked out as bid options (although for some reason he does not think John Terry would fit well into his line-up)

Looking forward to seeing you all on 17th August (if not before)

Now then.

I think it is about time we started looking at venues and dates for the 2012/13 Oction.

The Premier league is set to start on 18th August I believe.

How about Friday 10th August as a date for the Oction? Is everyone available that date?

Any other suggestions for dates or offers for host nations?

With the last three seasons seeing myself and ray scooping all 6 (six) trophies between us I hope a good summer break in the Kirkman households will see a better performance, especially ted who seems to become the Liverpool of fantasy football!

Balotelli's Catherine Wheels would like to formally extend their congratulations to this year's trophy winners, Alex and Ray Kohn.

To finish runners up in both competitions is disappointing, but we are going to have to try harder at this year's oction if we are to overcome such formidable opponents.

Ray's experience and Alex's boldness in signing 2 excellent strikers proved too much for us this season.

Congratulations again to Ray and Alex.

Come on lads don't let yourselves down you can do this, the hard work has been done just a couple of strikes from Aguero or robin will surely secure title number 4 and give me back a trophy I've not held for far too long.

The manager of Long Pants wishes to thank all the team's supporters for their loyalty in what has been a difficult season. The initial rush of points, with players gaining inspiration from their winning manager of the previous two years, hit a terrible points drought that many found inexplicable. Before the truth came out, Sir Harry Hatchet-Job attempted to place the blame on Ray - sacking him and appointing the equally charismatic Pat to be in charge. However, this did not prevent Sir Harry's fraudulent embezzlement of funds being discovered. The awful truth of Ray only having £42 million at the oction - thus preventing him from purchasing his preferred striker from the previous year (Van Persie) - led to Sir Harry bring arrested, stripped of his knighthood and being sent to Wormwood Scrubs. Pat gallantly relinquished her role of manager after performing stirling work in keeping the team's spirits up and handed the team back to Ray in December. Since then, the focus on the Cup ha paid dividends although Ray warns all fellow managers that next year (with a full 50K) he will be looking to regaining the FFL title that has been won by Alex's outstanding team (with Van Persie).

FFL CUP FINAL - RESULT

The early season disciplinary action by Sir Harry Hatchet-Job has proved decisive in rescuing the the season for Long Pants.

Removing the over-cautious Ray as manager and replacing him with long-time assistant Pat, has made the difference for Long Pants, who now find themselves in fourth place in the league and, after this weekend's cup final, holders of the eminent piece of silverware that is the FFL Cup.

Ballotelli's Catherine Wheels (Allan) were unable to stem the flow of the resurgent Long Pants who took the match by 9 points (Yaya Toure 6, Distan 3) to 6 (Howard 3, Evra 3).

So Congratulations to Pat and her demoted assistant Ray for another piece of silverware in a great run of success in these past three seasons.

Incidentally, for those wishing to include Tuesdays Liverpool v Chelsea match in the game - this would have resulted in both teams gaining an extra 2 points each (and thus no impact upon the result).
Here's to next year.

All the best

With the mid-week premier league games completed, preparation for the FFL Cup Final has started. The eagerly awaited final matches 2nd in the table Ballotelli's Catherine Wheels against the very experienced Long Pants, for what is expected to be a close-run affair. The PL matches included in the FFL final scoring, are those over the coming Saturday, Sunday and Monday, but EXCLUDE the FA Cup Final game (Liverpool vs Chelsea). Both BCW and LP have players from Liverpool and Chelsea, but under normal FFL Scoring rules, the Cup Final scores for these players will not be included for the FFL Cup.

The BIG Build up starts now - may the best Team win.
