Sorry, I woke up in a bad mood and thought that twisting Sturridge's interview was out of order. I bet that Phil Mcnulty was behind it all.
Alistair, I wish to complain about these articles about Daniel Sturridge on the BBC sport website:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24087597
I think this is lazy journalism, no wonder your colleague hasn't put their name against it. I bet it is Phil McNulty - he seems to have something against Liverpool.
In the original interview on Liverpool's website (which the Daily Mail have taken out of context, and the BBC rehashed) Sturridge expresses his desire to be the top striker for his National team, but what is important to get there is playing well for his club side, or else he won't get picked for the World Cup.
It sounds very different when the first bit is missed out and he is quoted as saying the only thing that matters is playing well for Liverpool.
The trophy is in our kitchen Bodhinaga! Alex brought it up but left it at our house when we went to the Oction.
It was a great relief to see Sir Alex at the Auction and to see that he is not going through with his plan to retire from FFL management. There's no doubt he won't be happy with last year's performance, but I am sure his team with both Cech and Johnson will be stronger and more competitive. However, I hope that Sir Alex doesn't hang onto the trophy for too long as there is a gap on my mantle piece and if I don't fill it with the trophy soon Lucy will put an ornament or some flowers there instead!
Its been a great 20 years that has brought success with 4 titles 3 cups but the time has come to step down, id like to thank my wife for always supporting me but the rest of my family have been the enemy for so many years. This can now change as I can step into a director role of ffl which can hopefully bring us closer together. The achievement of 451 points all those years ago with sporting crocolbat a feat that will probably never be matched sticks in my memory as the first and most important title which started the ball rolling. I wish everyone else success in the future but the time has come to step down, I'm sorry to my fans im leaving this way, as champions league football had been an almost guarantee in my career but this year with the rules changing my tactics and team struggled through out. Congratulations to alamoo who looks to have lifted the title this year and dad who keeps the trophies coming. Maybe one day I'll get the buzz again but for now good bye
As Ryan Shawcross failed to score any points in last nights Sunderland vs Stoke match, then the score for the FFL Cup Final remains as it was after Sunday’s games:
Long Pants 11 vs Physical Presence 9
Congratulations to Ray, therefore as winner of the 2012/13 FFL Cup Competition, and for retaining the trophy for the second consecutive season.
That’s it for another season of entertaining Cup Football.
See you all at next year;s auction
Regards
The FFL Cup Committee
Following a tense weekend of FFL Cup football, the defending cup holders, LONG PANTS, have emerged as winners of the replayed semi-final.
The score was Long Pants 4 vs Bottom Again 0
So Long Pants will face Physical Presence in the FFL Cup Final this coming weekend — with matches played over the 4th, 5th and 6th May to count.
It’s an all-Kohn, father versus son final, so may the best team lift the cup.
Let the mind-games begin.
Regards
The FFL Cup Committee.
Here are the results of the 2013 FFL Cup Semi Finals:
Physical Presence 7 vs Black Magic -2
Long Pants 4 vs Bottom Again (anything but) 4
So, Rob’s great giant-killing spree has come to an end and he can concentrate on the League once more, while Ben must await his Final opponent for another week as the second semi ended all-square.
Long Pants and Bottom Again will have another go this weekend with matches played on Saturday 27th, Sunday 28th, and Monday 29th counting.
In the event of another draw, then Ted’s Countback Rule will apply, as follows:
If the team scores are equal, then the team scores will be broken down into the following categories for comparison in the order given below.
First, the scores of the two forwards
second, the scores of the midfielders
third, the scores of the central defenders
fourth, the scores of the fullbacks
So, for example if the team scores are tied again,
then, the scores of the two sets of forwards will be compared to see if there is now a winner. If they are still equal then the midfielders will be compared, and so on.
Hopefully, we’ll get a winner. If not then we’ll go to a third weekend.
All the best

The semi finals of the FFL Cup will take place this weekend.
Semi final matches are:
LONG PANTS vs ANYTHING BUT BOTTOM AGAIN
PHYSICAL PRESENCE vs BLACK MAGIC
Results when all weekend PL matches are completed - after Man U vs Aston Villa on Monday.
Regards
The FFL Cup Committee
Apologies for the delay in getting the results out, and thanks to Ray for getting the scores update following Monday’s Manchester derby, but I am now able to provide the Quarter final scores.
And what scores they were — one or two shock results setting up two great matches for the semi-finals.
So, on to the results:
LONG PANTS 3 vs HUTH DID THAT VAART -1
ANYTHING BUT BOTTOM 10 vs ENRIQUE’S MY HERO 5
PHYSICAL PRESENCE 12 vs MARIO AND THE REST 2
BLACK MAGIC 5 vs LUIS SUAREZ ATE MY .... 2
So four home wins, and with the highlight being bottom team BLACK MAGIC pulling off another giant killing, by taking out top team LUIS SUAREZ etc,
Defending holders LONG PANTS continue to look a good bet to retain the cup
PHYSICAL PRESENCE are high scorers for this round of the cup, and MARIO (and Jamie) must wait another season.
ANYTHING BUT BOTTOM make up the final four with another decent score.
So the semi-finals of this seasons FFL Cup are as follows:
LONG PANTS vs ANYTHING BUT BOTTOM
PHYSICAL PRESENCE vs BLACK MAGIC
Semis will take place over the weekend of 20th April, and hopefully I’ll be around for the full weekend to get the scores out a bit earlier !
All the best
