Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard will be out for three weeks after tearing a muscle in his left thigh while on England duty, the club have confirmed.

Lampard flew to Doha to prepare for England's match against Brazil on Saturday but then returned home after picking up the injury while training.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini has suffered "potentially life-changing injuries" in a motorbike accident in east London, police said.

He was taken to hospital after his BMW bike was involved in a collision with a car in Walthamstow at about 1030 GMT.

He has fractured his wrists and injured his pelvis but a spokesman for the north London club said they were still waiting for hospital test results.

The Italian, 36, signed from London rivals Chelsea in January this year.

The female driver and a child passenger walked away from the Ford Fiesta Cudicini was in collision with and did not need hospital treatment.

Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa has been ruled out for around three months after undergoing surgery on his left knee.

The 27-year-old has been sidelined since mid-October with the problem and will now be missing until the new year.

It is reported that Kaka believes that England can win in South Africa. Journalists following the great playmaker interrogated him further and he revealed still more of his inner thoughts in predicting a Long Pants victory in this year's FFL. Perhaps his second prediction is more robust than his first?

Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta has suffered a
setback in his recovery from a cruciate knee ligament problem after
picking up an infection.

The 27-year-old Spaniard, who sustained the injury in February, recently had to undergo another procedure on his knee.

The thing is, Rob is actually closing in on Sam now!
If Van Persie can start rolling in a few goals for him then we know his defense wont let many goals in ('cos they dont play!) then he might have a chance of not being last come the end of the season.

Since Cech lost 2 points for goalkeeping errors made by Chelsea's substitute goalkeeper (after Cech was no longer on the field) I have become an expert in the red card rules. NEIL! New rule: "A scoring player, if red-carded, loses all points gained in that game to the creator of this rule". So Defoe's points yesterday come to Long Pants!
